A hallway ceiling had a hatch opening with a stepladder standing under it. The after photo shows a folding wooden attic ladder installed in the opening and unfolded to the floor.
Typical steps for this job
The photos show the start and the finish; these are the usual steps in between:
- The ceiling opening was checked against the ladder frame size.
- The frame was lifted into the opening and fixed to the framing.
- The ladder was unfolded down to the floor.
- The last section was cut to the floor height.
The bottom section of an attic ladder is cut to the exact floor height so the ladder stands flat and does not flex under weight.
