Typical steps for this job
The photos show the start and the finish; these are the usual steps in between:
- The shelf layout was marked on the wall with a level.
- The hidden brackets were fixed into the wall.
- The shelves were slid onto the brackets.
- Each shelf was checked for level before the collection went on.
Floating shelves hold only as much as their hidden brackets and anchors do, so the anchors are chosen for the wall behind them. For a collection, shelf depth is chosen for the largest item, so nothing hangs over the edge.
