Typical steps for this job
The photos show the start and the finish; these are the usual steps in between:
- The pet door was sized against the door panel.
- The opening was marked at the right height and cut.
- The frame was fitted through the door from both sides.
- The flap was tested to swing freely.
The cut goes through the door itself, so the height is set for the pet before anything is cut. Pet doors come in sizes by the pet's shoulder height and width, so it is measured on the animal before the kit is bought.
