Mounting a TV on a Miami wall

Most TV mounting questions in Miami come down to one thing: what the wall is made of. Our technicians check it before the first hole.

Concrete block. Most South Florida houses have concrete-block exterior walls with stucco outside. A TV on one of those walls goes up with masonry bits and concrete anchors rated for the mount and the TV, not drywall toggles.

Condo concrete. Condo towers have concrete walls and ceilings between units. The same masonry anchors apply. Cables cannot be run inside solid concrete, so we hide them in a slim, paintable raceway that runs from the TV to the outlet or the media console.

Drywall partitions. Inside walls are usually drywall over wood or metal studs. We find the studs and mount into them; where the wall allows, cables go inside the wall instead of hanging below the screen.

We mount TVs up to 100 inches, soundbars under the screen, and move an existing TV to a new wall. Bring your own mount, or we bring one rated for your TV and wall.

Fixed, tilting, full-motion or ceiling TV mount?

  • Fixed TV mount — the slimmest look, the screen close to the wall. Best when you sit straight in front of it at eye level.
  • Tilting mount — angles the screen down. Useful when the TV goes higher, in a bedroom or over a console, and cuts window glare.
  • Full-motion mount — an arm that pulls out and swivels, for a corner, an open kitchen-living room or a TV seen from two places. It puts the most load on the wall, so anchors and studs matter most here.
  • Ceiling TV mount — for rooms with no free wall. In many condo towers the ceiling is a post-tensioned concrete slab and associations restrict drilling into it, so check with your building first; send us a photo of the ceiling and we tell you whether it can take a mount.

Before the visit

Tell us the TV model (it gives the weight and the mounting pattern), the mount if you have one, and send a photo of the wall with the outlet. Clear the furniture under the spot. If you want a new outlet behind the TV, that is electrical work for an electrical contractor; we mount the TV and hide the cables to the existing outlet.

TV Mounting in Miami — FAQ

How much does TV mounting cost in Miami?

TV mounting starts from $99*. A bigger job — several TVs, a soundbar, shelves and a mirror on the same visit — is $100/hour with a 2-hour minimum, or a flat Half Day ($399, 4 hours). Text a photo of the wall and the TV model to +1 (786) 788-8714 for the exact price.

Can you mount a TV on a concrete wall?

Yes. We drill with masonry bits and use concrete anchors rated for the mount. Cables cannot go inside solid concrete, so on concrete walls we hide them in a paintable raceway.

Can you hide the wires inside the wall?

On drywall partitions, usually yes, with a wall plate kit behind the TV and one near the outlet. On concrete-block or condo concrete walls, no — the cables go in a slim raceway painted to match the wall.

Do I need to buy the mount?

No. You can supply your own, or we bring a fixed, tilting or full-motion mount rated for your TV size and wall. Tell us the TV model when you book.

Do you mount TVs in condo buildings?

Yes. Many associations ask for a certificate of insurance before a vendor goes upstairs; we send the COI naming the association, usually the same day, and book the visit inside the building’s work hours. For a ceiling mount, check the building’s drilling rules first.
