Tile Installation: the short answer

Gold Hands installs tile across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties — floors, walls, shower surrounds and kitchen backsplashes in porcelain, ceramic or natural stone, including large-format tile. The quote covers prep, leveling and waterproofing, not just setting tile, and smaller jobs like regrouting, resealing and replacing cracked tiles are welcome too.

Permitted work — moving plumbing or electrical, layout and structural changes — is permitted and performed under our Florida-licensed general contractor partner. Gold Hands crews are insured and bonded.

What's included

  • Floor tile, including large-format porcelain
  • Shower walls, floors, niches and benches
  • Kitchen and bathroom backsplashes
  • Natural stone: marble, travertine, slate
  • Surface prep, self-leveling and crack-isolation membranes
  • Waterproofing for showers and wet areas
  • Regrouting, resealing and caulking
  • Cracked or loose tile replacement

How it works

  1. Photos and square footage. Send photos and the area to be tiled; tell us the tile you have in mind or ask for options.
  2. Written quote. Prep, leveling, waterproofing, setting, grout and trim, priced per project.
  3. Prep. Old tile and adhesive removed, surface flattened, membranes and waterproofing installed where needed.
  4. Setting and grout. Tile laid out from the room centerlines, set, grouted and sealed where the material calls for it.
  5. Walkthrough. Edges, transitions and grout lines checked with you before we close the job.

Priced per project. Free estimate by phone, video call or from photos and measurements — the written quote is approved before work starts.

Tile Installation — questions we get asked

What does tile installation cost?

It depends on the area, the tile (large-format and natural stone take longer), the pattern and how much prep the floor or wall needs. Send photos and the square footage and we quote per project, prep and waterproofing included. Estimates are free by phone or from photos.

Can you tile over existing tile?

Sometimes, if the old tile is flat, solidly bonded and the extra height works at doors and transitions. In showers and on hollow-sounding floors we remove it. We check from your photos and tell you before quoting.

Do you waterproof showers before tiling?

Yes. Shower walls, floors and benches get a waterproofing membrane before tile goes on — the tile and grout are not the waterproof layer. In South Florida humidity that step decides whether a shower lasts.

Do you do small tile repairs?

Yes: a few cracked tiles, regrouting a shower, resealing natural stone, re-caulking tub and shower joints. Small jobs are booked like any handyman visit.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. Work that needs a permit in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County — moving plumbing or electrical, changing the layout, structural changes — is permitted and performed under our Florida-licensed general contractor partner, and inspections are scheduled as part of the job. Cosmetic updates on existing lines usually need no permit; the written quote says which parts of your project need one.
