Picture, Mirror & Art Hanging: the short answer

Handyman Gold Hands hangs pictures, mirrors and art: gallery walls measured to a layout, heavy mirrors over bathroom vanities, framed art, curtain rods and blinds, with anchors chosen for drywall, plaster or concrete block. Hanging is $100 per hour with a 2-hour minimum ($200 minimum visit), priced from a photo, in 14 US metro areas. Insured and bonded; the price is approved before work starts.

What's included

  • Gallery walls measured and leveled to a layout you approve
  • Heavy mirrors over vanities, dressers and fireplaces
  • Framed art, canvases, posters and shelves of frames
  • Curtain rods, tension rods and drapery hardware
  • Blinds and shades on existing window frames
  • Wall anchors chosen for drywall, plaster or concrete block
  • Hanging on tile backsplashes and bathroom walls with tile bits
  • Moving pictures to a new spot and patching the old holes

What we don't do: We hang what you have: we do not frame art or sell frames, mirrors or blinds, and a lighted mirror that needs a new outlet or circuit goes to an electrician.

How it works

  1. Send a photo. A photo of the wall and the pieces, with the rough size and weight of anything heavy. For a gallery wall, a sketch or a phone mockup of the layout helps.
  2. Get the price. The dispatcher replies with a price at $100 per hour. Several pieces go on one visit.
  3. We hang it. The technician lays the layout out on the wall, finds studs, picks the anchor for the wall behind, hangs everything level and cleans up the dust.

$100 per hour, 2-hour minimum ($200). A longer list fits a Half Day ($399, 4 hours) or Full Day ($749, 8 hours). Online payments add a 5% card processing fee; no sales tax.

Why the wall matters more than the frame

On drywall we find the studs for anything heavy and use rated anchors where there is none. Plaster in older homes cracks around the wrong bit, so we drill slowly and size the anchor to what is behind it. Concrete block and poured concrete, common in Florida houses and in condo towers, take masonry bits and concrete anchors.

A gallery wall is measured, not guessed. We mark the center line at eye level, transfer your layout to the wall with tape or paper templates, and keep the spacing between frames even. You see the layout on the wall before a single hole is drilled.

A large mirror over a vanity hangs on a cleat or rated hardware into studs or masonry, never on one nail. Over a tile backsplash, we drill the tile with a tile bit so it does not crack.

Picture, Mirror & Art Hanging — FAQ

How much does it cost to hang pictures and mirrors?

$100 per hour with a 2-hour minimum, so the smallest visit is $200. We do not charge per frame: send a photo of the pieces and the wall to +1 (786) 788-8714 or through the form and you get the price before you book. Mixing jobs is fine; the same visit can also hang a curtain rod or a shelf.

How long does it take to hang a gallery wall?

Most of the time goes into measuring and layout, not drilling. A few pictures and a mirror usually fit inside the 2-hour minimum; a large gallery wall, or one on plaster or concrete, takes longer.

What should I have ready before the visit?

The frames and mirrors unpacked, with their hanging hardware attached or in the box, and the layout you want: a sketch, a phone mockup or the photos of a room you like. Clear the furniture under the wall if you can. We bring tools, levels and standard anchors.

Can you hang heavy mirrors on plaster or concrete walls?

Yes. On plaster we drill slowly with sharp bits and use anchors sized for the wall we find, hitting the framing where there is one. On concrete block and condo concrete we use masonry bits and concrete anchors rated for the weight. On drywall, heavy pieces go into studs.

I rent or live in a condo. Can I hang things on the walls?

Most leases allow small nail holes and ask you to patch larger ones when you move out, so check yours. We can patch, sand and touch up old holes on the same visit, or later through drywall repair. In condos, the association may want a certificate of insurance before we come; we send it, usually the same day.
